If you’re already running the classic KIOSK app, this guide moves your iPad onto the new Lumina Kiosk app. Your Square connection, locations, and the menu you’ve already built in Remy all carry over.
Complete this process at the Kiosk itself. Have your smartphone running Remy and your iPad within reach — you’ll go back and forth between the two to finish registration. You’ll need both apps installed: download Remy on your smartphone and download Lumina Kiosk on your iPad.
1

Create a kiosk profile in Remy

If you don’t already have a profile for this device, create one now. A profile bundles the menu, welcome screen, checkout settings, and security PIN the Kiosk will run.
  1. In Remy, tap Create a New Profile and give it a clear, recognizable name.
  2. See Kiosk Operations → Profiles for a full breakdown of what each profile contains.
2

Open the new app on your iPad

On the iPad, open the new Lumina Kiosk app.Old KIOSK app icon next to the new Lumina Kiosk app iconOn first launch it shows a registration screen with a QR code or a 6-character pairing code — keep this screen visible.

Register the Kiosk in Remy

  1. In Remy, go to the Devices tab and tap Register Django.
  2. Tap Scan QR Code and point your phone at the QR code on the iPad — or type in the 6-character pairing code manually if scanning isn’t convenient.
4

Still in Remy, finish the setup:
  1. Tap the Tap to select location button and choose the location this Kiosk serves.
  2. Tap the Tap to select profile button and select the profile you created in step 1.

On the iPad, tap Add a Reader and follow the prompts to pair your Square reader over Bluetooth. Wait until you see the Reader Connected confirmation before moving on.
6

Start the Kiosk

Tap Start Kiosk Mode on the iPad. The Kiosk goes live on the new app.
After the Kiosk starts, run a quick test order end-to-end to confirm payments are processing correctly. If you run into issues with the reader or connectivity, see the Troubleshooting guide.
